ZEDEDA, the leader in edge orchestration, today announced the expansion of its executive team.
These executives will help to guide ZEDEDA as the company continues to experience a period of exponential growth. Last month, ZEDEDA announced $26 million in Series B funding through a broad range of new and existing investors, pushing the total raised to more than $55 million since its inception. Over the past year, ZEDEDA has seen revenue grow by 7x, while the number of nodes under management has grown by 4x.
As part of its momentum, it is time for the company to further build out its executive team to prepare for even more growth and to continue to lead in delighting customers by making edge computing effortless, open and intrinsically secure.
Erik Nordmark, a co-founder of the company, has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer. Nordmark is widely considered to be one of the technical visionaries in the edge computing industry. In his new role, he will oversee product architecture and vision, drive ZEDEDA’s partnership with the Linux Foundation, and evaluate new technologies and development partnerships while continuing to work directly with ZEDEDA’s largest customers.
“For several years, we’ve been watching the natural evolution as the data center, cloud, and now the edge became the center of data within organizations. With the creation and collection of data at the edge now exploding, organizations more than ever need to re-envision their traditional IT and OT operations to enable the new business cases and strategic value this will drive,” Nordmark said. “ZEDEDA’s customers and partners are at the forefront of these edge-driven opportunities, and I’m excited to step into this new role as we continue to enhance and expand the flexible foundation that is critical to their continued success.”
Paul Campaniello has been named Vice President of Marketing. In his new role, he will oversee all aspects of global marketing and communications, including go-to-market strategy, brand, sales enablement, product marketing, demand generation, and analyst and public relations.
“ZEDEDA sits at the intersection of several dynamic markets and technologies, such as the distributed edge, virtualization, and the leading open source framework,” Campaniello said. “I’m thrilled to help ZEDEDA address the rapidly growing edge management and orchestration market. ZEDEDA is extending the cloud experience to the edge, and it’s clear the need for a secure and flexible edge solution will continue to grow.”
Michael Maxey has been named VP of Business Development. In this role, Maxey will help customers and partners accelerate and simplify the deployment of applications on the edge.
“At the distributed edge, customer value is delivered in a complete solution. Management and orchestration are extremely important. But it’s equally important that the entirety of the solution is easy to consume and implement,” Maxey said. “The options are endless with the number of edge use cases growing daily. And I can’t wait to build strategies for all these use cases, partnering with the best companies on the planet.”
Raghu Vatte moves into the VP of Product Management and Customer Success role, where he will support ZEDEDA’s growing customer base from deployment to future needs.
“While some technology sectors are seeing slowdowns, edge computing investments continue to increase because of the strategic value it brings to organizations across all verticals,” Vatte said. “We’re seeing customers lean into these projects, and ZEDEDA is critical to their success by providing the integrated edge management and orchestration required.”
“Edge computing is increasingly important within organizations, and these new executive hires will strongly position us to meet the needs of the biggest customers, helping us to build out our internal teams and provide even more value to our customers and partners,” said Said Ouissal, founder and CEO of ZEDEDA. “Edge computing is accelerating, and our open framework and ecosystem approach is the ideal solution for businesses looking to take advantage of the benefits of edge computing.”
