Act-On Software, the leading growth marketing automation platform, today announced the addition of Gregg Ames as Chief Commercial Officer and Syed Ahmed as Senior Vice President of Engineering, both reporting to Act-On CEO Kate Johnson. As the company positions itself for continued growth, the hirings mark another major step following a funding announcement, technology launch, and successful marketing conference in 2021.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Gregg and Syed to our executive team during a year of tremendous growth for Act-On,” said Kate Johnson, CEO of Act-On Software. “Each has proven ability to lead teams through high growth environments and will enable us to bring our industry leading solutions to a broader global audience. Gregg is a seasoned go-to-market leader who has a deep understanding of growth marketing and experience scaling sales teams to drive revenue growth. As we expand our engineering and operations teams, Syed will be critical in continuing to bring a high quality product to market on a regular cadence.”
Gregg Ames joins Act-On after driving revenue and sales growth at Marketo, Oracle, and Turning. As VP of Enterprise Sales at Marketo, Gregg was instrumental in the rapid growth of the marketing automation market. A proven leader with a wealth of experience in revenue and business management, Ames will expedite Act-On’s business growth and accelerate momentum upmarket into enterprise-level deployments.
Syed Ahmed has extensive experience leading engineering and operations teams, most recently as CTO and VP of Engineering at Contiq. Syed also spent four years leading a high growth period at Tapclicks, a marketing operations start-up. As SVP of Engineering at Act-On, Ahmed brings a wealth of expertise in platform scalability, data analytics, and CRM integrations, which will bolster Act-On’s ability to continue to offer a highly personalized and customizable customer experience through its growth marketing automation platform.
Ames and Ahmed join Act-On at a pivotal time as the company looks to continue its aggressive growth trajectory and push into new markets as the demand for large businesses to transform to digital-first initiatives continues. The hiring represents another major milestone this year following Act-On’s announcement of $20 million in growth financing, their unveiling of an industry leading automated SMS channel, and the hosting of Growth ‘21, a premier growth marketing conference that drew 1,000’s of marketers worldwide.
