Kiip, mobile advertising network company is currently writing an Anheuser-Busch audit trail to a public blockchain. Here all the stakeholders would be able to view entire data. Kiip is currently undertaking “first-ever blockchain mobile ad campaign.”
Kiip is a mobile advertising company founded in 2010. Brian Wong, Courtney Guertin, and Amadeus Demarzi established this company. This business platform is now active on approximately 4000 apps played on around 150 million devices. The company has major offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Tokyo and many other prominent cities across the globe. Fast Company has adjudged Kiip as one of the 50 Most Innovative Companies in the world in 2013. Forbes has also recorded Kiip as one of the “4 Hot Online Ad Companies” in the world.
The latest Anheuser-Busch campaign involves several separate drives. Anheuser-Busch InBev is currently the largest brewer in the world. Their products include Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Estrella Jalisco, Budweiser, and Stella Artois.
Kiip founder and CEO Brian Wong expressed detailed analysis about this campaign was written in real time to a local file. According to Wong, these data is “not technically a blockchain,” but serves as a placeholder ledger. Every one hour this data is batch-written in encrypted format sourced from a local ledger to a public Ethereum blockchain. The data would then be available for public viewing and auditing by every stakeholder when they download them to a wallet or a distributed app (DApp).
Though the processing on Ethereum is comparatively slow, it is essential as the entries are virtually unchangeable here. Moreover, onboard smart contracts automatically resolve discrepancies found in the data or app. These smart contracts can solve the issues with rules like “take the average of any two numbers where the difference is greater than 10 percent.”
Wong has recognized that though his company would be able to make this data available to the public, using blockchain has an added advantage that it is difficult to change added data in this platform. It is the main reason for using blockchain in the service.
