Adweek announced that Marvet Britto and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms will appear at Brandweek®, its tentpole live virtual summit for brand marketing leaders. Ms. Bottoms will be interviewed by Marvet Britto, president and founder of The Britto Agency, in the first session of the opening day of Brandweek, on Monday, September 14 at 12:10 p.m.
Ms. Bottoms has gained national attention for her leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic and the growing demands for racial justice in Atlanta and across the country. Among her notable accomplishments are the establishment of Atlanta’s first fully-staffed Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, the appointments of a LGBTQ Affairs Coordinator and a Human Trafficking Fellow, the citywide elimination of cash bail bond, the closure of the Atlanta City Detention Center to ICE detainees, and the rollout of the most far-reaching financial transparency platform in the city’s history.
Now in its third year, Brandweek takes place Sept. 14-18 and will also feature such notable speakers as actor, producer and entrepreneur Ryan Reynolds; singer-songwriter Victory Boyd; three-time NBA champion and Chief Cultural Officer at CAA Sports Dwyane Wade; and Global CMO of Facebook Antonio Lucio. New elements to Brandweek include intimate Masterclasses from top marketing experts, A Taste of Brandweek social sampling experiences and Brandweek Lift, a program where minority-owned businesses can attend Brandweek free of charge and connect with senior business leaders.
“The caliber of speakers at this year’s Brandweek is off the charts,” said Adweek CEO Jeffrey Litvack. “We’re honored to have such distinguished guests as Mayor Bottoms. It’s a testament to how hard our team has worked to put together a virtual event like no other. It’s going to be a can’t-miss experience.”
