Acoustic, the largest independent marketing cloud with a total focus on the marketer, today announced that Dennis Self has joined the company as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Self brings extensive experience in marketing and related data and technology services to the role. His hiring underscores Acoustic’s commitment to understanding the needs of marketers and delivering solutions that will empower their success. Most recently, Self served as President & CEO of Acxiom, an IPG company. Throughout his career, Self has focused on helping customers connect business results to their marketing, data, and technology investments martech news.
“Dennis’ experience makes him the ideal person to guide our organization at a pivotal time in our company’s history,” said Tom Heiser, Acoustic Chairman. “We are thrilled to have Dennis join, and I’m excited about his vision for continuing to accelerate Acoustic’s innovation and to help our customers make meaningful connections with their audiences.”
After separating from IBM in July 2019 to form a stand-alone company, Acoustic has continued to invest in creating the modern integrated platform that marketers need to achieve measurable results and to form tangible, humanity-infused connections with their core audiences. Self will lead Acoustic through the next phase of its evolution as the largest independent, full-scale marketing cloud: a significant task that will further champion Acoustic’s competitive differentiator as the only platform in its category entirely focused on serving marketers. Self’s experiences across high-growth and customer-centric companies are exceptionally aligned with the position Acoustic has quickly established in the marketing technology sector.
“I’m excited to join the Acoustic team during a period when our society and the marketing industry are facing dramatic inflection points,” Self said. “It is the perfect time to join Acoustic as we quickly mobilize to help CMOs and their teams emerge from these unique and challenging circumstances with next-generation marketing capabilities.”
Self replaces Heiser, who served as interim CEO. Heiser will remain with Acoustic as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
