Business communications provider, Esendex, has enhanced its WhatsApp Business Platform offering with an embedded, self-serve sign-up feature, transforming the speed and ease at which businesses can engage with customers.
The new feature will allow businesses to connect to WhatsApp without leaving the Esendex platform, significantly reducing the time it takes to enroll and start sending messages to customers on the popular messaging app.
Ahead of the busy Black Friday season, the new feature means businesses can now sign up to go through onboarding and begin sending deals and marketing messages through WhatsApp in less than one day.
Businesses can also carry out customer care conversations via chatbots or live agents, and send other transactional messages such as alerts, updates and reminders, all from within Esendex’s user interface.
WhatsApp is the world’s number one messaging app, home to over 2 billion active users. An average user is reported to open WhatsApp more than 20 times a day.
Richard Hanscott, CEO of Esendex, said:
“In recent years, WhatsApp has become an increasingly popular platform for businesses to reach their audience – and for good reason. Rich content delivered through WhatsApp prompts customers to take immediate action, with promotional messages delivered directly to their mobiles.
“Recognising this, ahead of the Black Friday and holiday season, we’ve made it as easy as possible for businesses to be strategic and sign up to our WhatsApp Business Platform to begin connecting with their customers. One of our UK customers has already completed the onboarding process in less than 20 minutes.”
A global survey by Esendex previously revealed that six in 10 consumers have never received business communication through WhatsApp, demonstrating its untapped potential.
Nearly a third of shoppers (32 per cent) reported they would be happy to complete customer surveys or business reviews if they were asked to do so via WhatsApp or SMS, facilitating valuable insight into customer satisfaction.
