In a world where technology and innovation are ever-evolving, it’s become clear that one platform can’t solve all of an online merchant’s needs.

1. Liam, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
My name is Liam JE Gerada, and I am the founder and CEO of Krepling. Since Krepling was founded in 2020 I have also served as a member of the board. I was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa until I was 10 years old when my family and I moved to Malta.

2. What was the inspiration behind Krepling?
I was 17 years old when I launched my first startup alongside my brother Travis, who was 15 at the time. Our first company was called The Kingsfare, a retail consignment marketplace that provided resellers with snacks and streetwear at a low cost. While we were building this business, we came across a problem that most major retailers have faced: moving beyond a basic storefront. We found a fundamental shift in the way merchants wanted to sell their products, where they wanted to create customized e-commerce flows, and have multiple websites and dedicated purchasing experiences.

However, these desires often involve hundreds of untested third-party apps, building a custom setup from the ground up, or hiring 10+ engineers and forking out $30k+ a month for a developer-focused platform. We basically realized something that most of the emerging commerce enablers didn’t realize: merchants are not developers. This lead us to found Krepling in 2020.

3. Which industries do you mainly cater to? And what’s the main problem you’re helping to solve?
Krepling is the first AI-based, centralized e-commerce enablement platform that allows high-growth, mid-market e-enabling brands globally to build and scale their e-commerce operations without any use of code and programming (no-code). The problem that Krepling was built to solve is to make building a modern e-commerce system easy and as simple as shopping online itself. Krepling allows merchants or retailers to grow, build and scale their e-commerce operations from the ground up using their software.

4. What makes Krepling stand out from the competition?

In a world where technology and innovation are ever-evolving, it’s become clear that one platform can’t solve all of an online merchant’s needs.

Krepling understands this and embraces this as a concept. What sets us apart is how we are tackling this very problem. We have bet heavily on ‘no-code’, automation, and integrations as a means to reach wider consumer graphics, expand to bigger markets, grow bottom-line revenue, and many other problems, some of which I have already mentioned.

To address the most complex and variable e-commerce flows, we divided Krepling into three major product areas and consolidated them to enable firms to quickly address these issues and compete with global billion-dollar brands.

5. What can we anticipate from Krepling going forward?
I believe that everything will accelerate and things will start to happen more quickly. Our industry’s technology is advancing more quickly than anyone could have predicted, and we are quite optimistic about the future. We believe that the use of automation technologies and artificial intelligence in business will transform consumers’ daily lives in a similar way to how making an online purchase did. Our aim is to stay within these exponentially changing curves’ confounds.
