social media advertising

AT&T stated that it would be merging its advanced advertising unit, Xandr into Warner Media.

Gerhard Zeiler, the Chief Revenue Officer of WarnerMedia and President of WarnerMedia International is said to be overseeing all the ad operations across AT&T.

This means that the CEO of WarnerMedia gets a promotion to becoming the CEO of AT&T. and this also means that the CEO of Xandr, Brian Lesser will be departed.

The chief business officer of Xandr, Kirk McDonald will continue leading Xandr and will be reporting to Zeiler directly.

Xandr and WarnerMedia have been seen working together a lot in recent times. So much so, that they even had plans of having a joint upfront presentation in the month of May. Unfortunately, the global spread of COVID-19 led to the cancellation of that presentation.

Zeiler made a statement saying that everyone is facing a crisis and time is unprecedented which means amplification of priorities across both the companies- Xandr and WarnerMedia in order to deliver valuable outcomes and results for their clients and agencies.

He also stated that now more than ever the company needs to simplify its advertising along with its marketplace capabilities for its customers. This will be possible through a single holistic conversation that will span premium content and secure ecosystems alongside advanced and proven advertising capabilities.

This merger might shed light on some aspects of advertising of at least one simplification of the processes of the existing ones.
