Syniti named as a Visionary in Gartner Magic Quadrant for Metadata Management Solutions
Syniti, a global data management solution provider, today announced that it has been named by Gartner, Inc. as highest for ability to execute and furthest for completeness of vision in the Visionaries quadrant within its Magic Quadrant for Metadata Management Solutions. The report provides an analysis of the provider offerings and the overall market for metadata management solutions. Syniti was included among 17 vendors that met 15 specific criteria.
Growing demand arising from a variety of data and analytics initiatives has driven strategic requirements and modernization of metadata management solutions. According to the report, those selected as “Visionaries demonstrate a strong understanding of emerging technology and business trends, or have a position that is well aligned with current demand. However, they are not yet perceived as competitive players beyond their traditional customer base. They may be new entrants that lack the installed base and global presence of larger vendors. They could also be large, established players in related markets that have only recently placed emphasis on a focused offering for metadata management.”
“In today’s digitally transformed world, all aspects of data are becoming a powerful asset for organizations,” said Kevin Campbell, Syniti Chief Executive Officer. “As data Sherpas of enterprises, we see how data-driven companies are leveraging data and innovation to reinvent industries and re-shape the world. Metadata management and rich metadata capabilities are foundational to the success of an organization’s data strategy.”
An effective approach to metadata management has become one of the most crucial aspects of unleashing the power of data and information across the enterprise. With the advent of data lakes, distributed cloud environments, self-service BI and RPA, truly understanding and trusting systems and data sources has become increasingly difficult. Fortunately, advancements in several key technologies and the evolution of solutions dedicated to this problem, such as Syniti Information Management, are greatly simplifying the tasks associated with metadata management and accelerating time to value of strategic business objectives.
Rex Ahlstrom, Syniti Chief Strategy and Technology Officer says, “Syniti approaches metadata management from a business outcomes perspective, tightly linking company strategy, goals and initiatives, to the technical aspects of metadata management. Without this linkage, businesses may be left with siloed information assets, data catalogs, business glossaries and discovery tools that aren’t very usable by the business. It’s the connected nature of these assets and the ability to leverage advanced AI and ML techniques to explore these connections that opens up new opportunities for innovation. Providing guidance to business users on actions they can take to improve their strategic objectives is what makes our solutions unique.”
