Quantreq Capital Markets, LLC, an international provider of cryptocurrency capital market services, has launched with the first crypto fund-only administrator along with an OTC order-flow execution desk.  The firm has over $700 million in cryptocurrency hedge fund assets under administration globally including the U.S., Asia and Europe.

Tailored specifically to the needs of crypto fund managers and their investors, Quantreq is bringing an institutional approach to the non-traditional market.  Quantreq’s offerings include full-service cryptocurrency hedge fund administration, market data services, multi-exchange aggregated portfolio management, agency OTC order-flow execution, AML/KYC compliance, exchange/OTC account support, and capital introduction among others.  The firm is unveiling a real-time risk analytics offering to bolt on to the client-facing portfolio management system by this September as well as its cryptocurrency market research group, which will be providing analyst coverage to Quantreq’s Portfolio Manager clients to follow in Q4 2018.

Quantreq presently has connectivity to 13 exchanges and 7 OTC trading desks around the world.  With the ability to pull down trade, transfer, fee and balance data in real-time from these venues, it can thus provide the ability to turn over daily NAVs for crypto funds trading on these platforms in a fully automated fashion via its portfolio management system.

Libra, a blockchain-native technology company, will be powering middle and back office solutions for Quantreq within their crypto asset ecosystem as well as scaling their secure reporting, compliance and control solutions.

Prominent fund clients administered by Quantreq include Sora Ventures, Hyperion Decimus, and Arca Funds.  Sora Ventures includes Portfolio Manager Jason Fang from Fenbushi Capital and David Roebuck from Draper Fisher Jurvetson backed joint venture DFJ Dragon Fund.  The Sora team rounds out with Patrick Dai, the creator of Qtum and Co-founder of Ethereum Taylor Gerring.  High frequency algorithmic crypto trading firm Hyperion Decimus is led by prominent HFT trader and author Haim Bodek.  Arca Funds, which creates investment products on blockchains and runs a fundamental-based crypto hedge fund with a macro-economic overlay, is led by former Guggenheim Portfolio Manager Steven McClurg, Wisdom Tree co-founder Rayne Steinberg, and former Merrill Lynch/Citadel trader, Jeff Dorman.

In addition, Quantreq provides administration, compliance and advisory services to Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) and Security Token Offerings (STOs) and blockchain tech companies.  Two prominent Quantreq clients are MobileCoin and HUMAN Protocol.  MobileCoin’s team consists of hedge fund Crypto Lotus’ General Partner Joshua Goldbard, Google’s former Senior Products Attorney Shane Glynn and famed founder of the messaging app Signal and Open Whisper Systems, Moxie Marlinspike.  MobileCoin is backed by Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.  HUMAN Protocol is led by Eli-Shaoul Khedouri, a recognized leader in Artificial Intelligence and serial tech entrepreneur, joined by a seasoned team from Cloudera, Stanford, and MIT.

Veteran traditional fund administrator North Street Global founded the new firm and current Quantreq Head of Capital Introduction, Doug DeRosa, will act as interim COO as the rest of the management team is built out.  Both firms will run completely separate from each other with their own teams.
