Treasure Data announced Treasure Data Live Connect, a zero-copy feature within Treasure Data CDP, is now available for the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. This new integration built on Databricks Delta Sharing enables customers to reduce costs, streamline security governance, and reduce operational overhead and data movement between Treasure Data’s customer data platform (CDP) and Databricks’ platform.

“Marketing teams want to use all the data at their disposal for better audience segmentation and activation, while IT teams want greater versatility, flexibility, and cost management when it comes to customer data storage, management, and movement. Live Connect, powered by Delta Sharing and built on Databricks, delivers a win-win for everyone,” said Kaz Ohta, CEO and co-founder at Treasure Data. “Live Connect enables our customers to choose from the best of both worlds – their CDP and the rich data in platforms like Databricks – without forcing a specific overall architectural approach.”

Live Connect is the enterprise zero-copy solution purpose built for the rigorous and unique demands of today’s largest companies. Delta Sharing is a key component of this solution, enabling seamless and secure data sharing across organizational boundaries. By leveraging Delta Sharing, Treasure Data Live Connect provides a robust framework for sharing live data without the need for data duplication or extensive extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes. It simplifies data integration between platforms like the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform and Treasure Data CDP.

Live Connect helps IT and marketing teams securely and efficiently access and activate customer data in two ways:

This “best of both worlds” approach leverages zero copy through Delta Sharing, while also improving the efficiency of copying when it is necessary.

“Enterprise customers who use the Databricks Intelligence Platform want to achieve a 360 view of their customers, without having to move or copy data across different systems or platforms,” said Akram Chetibi, Director of Product Management, Databricks. “We are very excited to enable customers to use Delta Sharing for zero-copy integration with Treasure Data, enabling marketing teams to leverage and enrich the lakehouse data with minimal cost and operational overhead.”
