Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ : CHTR ) today announced that Kelly Atkinson has joined the Company as Head of Marketing, Consumer & SMB. In this newly created role at Charter, Atkinson will oversee digital, creative and marketing efforts, with a focus on increasing penetration of all residential and SMB services. She will report to Jon Hargis, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, and be based out of the Charter Headquarters in Stamford, CT.
“Kelly brings more than 25 years of marketing experience to her new role, including a proven track record of delivering successful go-to-market plans,” said Hargis. “Her extensive cable and marketing expertise will help Charter further define the Spectrum value proposition, increase penetration of our services, and strengthen our competitive advantage.”
Atkinson joins Charter from Rogers Communications in Toronto, Canada, where she most recently served as Executive Vice President, Consumer Cable & Content. At Rogers, she was accountable for running their multi-billion dollar cable business including video, internet, voice, and smart home monitoring. Prior to Rogers, Atkinson served in a number of leadership roles at Time Warner Cable, most recently as Senior Vice President, TWC Residential Consumer Acquisition, where she led the acquisition and marketing strategies designed to deliver new customer, product and revenue growth goals for the company’s residential division. Atkinson also served in a number of marketing roles for Citigroup and Discover Card Services.
Atkinson holds Bachelor degrees in Business and Marketing & Communications from Villanova University where she graduated with honors.
